Meet The Reception Team

Sophie our Reception Manager and is ably assisted by Julie, Holly, Lydia and Harry. All members of our Front of House team have completed their N.V.Q Level 2 Customer Service, or our comprehensive in-house training.

Sophie

RECEPTION MANAGER

I started working at Newgate Kennels in 2002. Throughout this time, I have completed 3 NVQ’s in Customer Service Level 2, Management Level 3 and Animal Care Level 3. I was lucky enough to welcome my two sons in 2015 and 2017, who keep me thoroughly entertained. I love working at Newgate Kennels as I get to see all my favourite animals and enjoy getting to know new clients and their pets. I can’t say I have a favourite breed of cat or dog as working here has taught me it’s all about the pet’s personality.

Julie

Receptionist

I joined the Newgate team in 2019 with almost 20 years previous experience working in animal care. I am really enjoying my role in reception and getting to know our regular clients. It’s a lovely environment to work in with some great people. I’ve owned many furry friends over the years and currently have a cat called Jammy Dodger. I hope to have another dog and more rats in the future.

Holly

Receptionist/ Assistant Manager

I first started working part time at Newgate Kennels in August 2019 whilst studying for my BSc in Animal Behaviour & Welfare. On graduating I started working full time and have experienced many different roles within the company including kennel assistant, administering medication and working on reception. I absolutely love working with all the amazing, sweet animals who come to stay with us, the days fly by!
We have a family cavapoo called Toby but I have recently moved into my own home so have no fur baby of my own now but I’m hoping to put that right very soon!

Lydia

Receptionist/ Kennel Assistant

I began working at Newgate in late February 2022. I adore large dog breeds, but I do have a soft spot for hounds (although I am biased).
In my spare time I enjoy painting, photography and participating in scent-work classes with my own dog Thor.

Harry

RECEPTIONIST/ KENNEL ASSISTANT

I started working at Newgate part time in 2019, but have recently started working full time in 2022 after completing my BTEC Level 3 diploma in Animal Management. I love looking after all the animals that come here especially the dogs. My favourite breeds are Rottweilers and Jack Russells.
